How do we deal with pressure at work? The company’s thematic lecture on Stress Coping and Psychological Resilience provided valuable guidance, leading all participants on a journey of inner growth where they learn to dance with stress rather than fight against it.
The course began with an icebreaker activity named Stress Thermometer, helping employees become aware of their current stress levels. Dr. Li Hao, the invited speaker, clearly stated at the beginning: “Stress cannot be eliminated, but we can change our perception of it and strengthen our ability to cope.” This idea reshaped the participants’ traditional understanding of stress.
In terms of practical stress-relief skills, the lecture shared multiple quick and easy calming methods. For instance, the classic 4-7-8 breathing technique effectively soothes anxiety in a short time. Sensory grounding exercises, which guide people to systematically notice five things they see, four sounds they hear, three things they touch and so on, help bring wandering thoughts back to the present moment. The cognitive pause technique suggests taking a 60-second break when emotions run high, preventing impulsive reactions. Simple, efficient and highly effective, these methods are ideal for quick use during work breaks and were highly praised by employees.
The core of the lecture focused on systematically building personal psychological resilience — the ability to recover quickly and even grow stronger amid adversity. It encouraged employees to view challenges from multiple perspectives and turn seemingly unfavorable difficulties into opportunities for self-improvement. Meanwhile, the lecture advocated a growth mindset, regarding setbacks and challenges at work as precious chances for capability enhancement. In addition, strengthening the inner connection between daily work and personal core values provides lasting motivation for continuous progress. Solid psychological resilience does not come by chance. Dr. Li pointed out that physical well-being is its foundation, including sufficient sleep, balanced nutrition and regular exercise. On the other hand, employees are encouraged to build their own support system and bravely seek help when needed.
The lecture also introduced an inspiring tool: the Four Quadrants of Energy Management. It helps employees clearly identify energy consumption patterns of different tasks, enabling wiser and more scientific allocation of personal energy, and ultimately greatly improving work efficiency.
This training not only equipped employees with practical stress management skills, but also fostered a positive internal atmosphere focused on mental health and mutual support. It is hoped that all staff will put what they have learned into practice, forge an unbeatable inner strength amid pressure, dance with stress, and keep moving forward alongside personal growth.
